Aga Khan (the Museum)

(Statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba, his wife)

You can wander the rooms on the first floor ... where there are displays recounting the work of Mahatma Gandhi.

All along the walls are photos and descriptions that tell the story of Gandhiji's work in Pune and India.

There are also artifacts ... clothing, personal effects, necklaces of both Gandhi and his wife, Kasturba. There is also the table that was used for conferences and gatherings.

Both Ghandi's secretary (and dear friend), Mahadevbhai Desai, and his wife Kasturba died while imprisoned here ... thereby making this a sacred place.

The room where Kasturba passed away has been kept as it was in 1942. You're not allowed to enter the room, but can see it through the glass walls.
