Aga Khan Palace

Got to go to Aga Khan Palace - which for me is like seeing Mount Vernon, Arlington Cemetery and Independence Hall ... all rolled into one. Built in the 19th century, it was indeed a private palace residence. It was donated to India in 1969, and it is now a national monument.

These are photos from different angles on the grounds ... The museum portion of the palace is only on the first floor. Visitors are not allowed on any other floors. The museum is devoted to Gandhi ... he, his wife Kasturba, and his secretary Mahadevbhai Desai were imprisoned here for almost two years.
